What I like about my work

I enjoy working with businesses and helping them to achieve their goals. I like the variety of work that I do and the fact that each day there is something new to keep me on my toes. I also enjoy the work that I get to do with charitable organisations.

What I've done in the past

I first started working for Anderson Lloyd as a summer clerk and then worked part time while I finished university. I began working full time for Anderson Lloyd after being admitted to the bar in 2002.  I became an associate in 2006 and a partner in 2008.

My approach to working with my clients

I am approachable, hardworking and reliable. I try to be proactive in finding solutions to the problems that my clients face. I am thorough, commercial and pragmatic.

What I enjoy at work

The quality of the work that I get to do is fantastic. Much of it is of national significance. I enjoy the opportunities that I get because of working here, such as presenting guest lectures for the University of Otago's Banking Law and Advanced Company Law papers, running workshops for the Otago Chamber of Commerce and presenting at a New Zealand Law Society conference. I am also co-author the "Credit and Finance" and "Bills of Exchange" chapters of LexisNexis' legal publication New Zealand Forms and Precedents.

What I enjoy outside of work

I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. I like to walk my dog. I get up early every day and take her for a walk before work. I also like tramping and have recently completed the Milford Track. My real obsession is with Italy. I love everything to do with the country, from the food and wine, to the language and the culture. I have been lucky enough to visit three times – so far!

What I enjoy about living in the South Island

I am Dunedin born and bred and chose to stay here when I graduated because my family is here and the work life balance is good. I enjoy not having a long commute to get to work or to holiday destinations. We have a house in Naseby, which is a great place to unwind and is only 1 1/2 hours drive away.
